annoying odors are in interior spaces of my boat as well as reaching out to neighboring vessels. is there something that can be done to make this problem go away?

It is likely that the tank vents on your boat may need to be re-engineered and replaced. Good practice in boat construction suggests that vents for tanks (fuel, black-water, gray-water, etc.) be properly trapped so that tank fumes are sealed to avoid released into occupied spaces. Vent outlets should not be located near inlets for ventilation air; vent outlets placed at high locations such as in a mast often achieve good results.
